Campaigning is a very surreal thing. It’s a whole new realm that existed all around us, yet we were unaware. Learning how to “campaign”, but balancing it with the wisdom and discernment of the Holy Spirit in the final decision making. It’s a strange thing going places where there are media people present and everyone recognizes you.
My kids are enjoying the ride and are learning first hand how campaigning works in an election year. They will get their first experience door knocking this week as we will begin going door to door around our district meeting each and every person in our district.
As far as our dietary restrictions go, they have loosened up a bit after meeting with the allergist. We are working to find what are true allergies and which ones are not. Taking into account my family and their food issues as well as my husbands, we felt it safe to reintroduce nuts and soy into our diets and have been doing well. Gluten, Wheat, Dairy and Egg are the big ones that we are learning we need to stay away from. This opens a whole new world of food and snacks which is very refreshing!
I don’t think anyone expected their school year to progress the way it has this year, so I have found peace in taking our schooling through the summer on the lighter end. We have been enjoying reviewing CTC Math (review to come), participating in the Lamplighter’s Summer Reading Program, and going to our music lessons on Practice Monkey’s when we are able.
As Alex and I reflect on all the Lord has brought us through, the passions He has built in us, the people we have met, the experiences we have had, and the testimonies we praise God through, there is absolutely no doubt in our minds that we are doing what God has called us to. The people we meet and talk to all say the exact same thing, “This is amazing. There is something about you.” or “We have been praying for you for YEARS!” or “We have never seen a candidate with such a power force behind them before.”
This is Jesus Christ, Him crucified, and the work of a church that functions according to God’s Word. A well-fed church is strong and powerful, bold and convicted.
We have some exciting events coming up that I cannot wait to share with you all!
